She is busy with her book right now, but she has worked wonders with our occasional carpet mishap

We have a vax upright cleaner, it’s noisy, and I’m not so sure it cleans properly , although it was fairly cheap I wish I’d spent a bit more and got a better one,

Hi

I have a Vax, not very cheap, but it works.

One big thing is the liquid you use.

I use the Screwfix Liquid, cheap as chips and brilliant.

Re: Carpet shampooer.

Family members who always have to be cleaning, not that their houses need it, always hire a self-hire carpet cleaner. They decide which carpets to clean, move the furniture where possible and then hire the carpet cleaner for however long they think it will take, usually 24 hours is enough. Possibly a lot cheaper to hire than buying one I guess, but don't know for sure as I don't know the cost of buying.

I think the company below is where they hire from, not sure. However, I expect there are others:

I have a Vax shampooer, it does a fabulous job but I’m beginning to feel it’s too heavy for me ..... I would definitely recommend it though.

We have a medium sized Vax shampooer. It does a good. We use the Rug Doctor shampoo from Asda.

We have a Vax one too... used it today to clean a rug.

Only gripe I have is that the dirty water container is nigh on impossible to clean out!!!

Can I ask how long it takes for the carpet to dry after shampooing?

With our Vax it depends on how much shampoo you apply. There is a trigger you pull to apply the shampoo as you move the machine over the carpet with a back and fore movement. You then release the trigger and go over it again to suck up the shampoo. Our carpets are still damp afterwards but dry soon afterwards.
