Take Fat !

I went to shop this morning and asked for 4 slices of their best ham (£18 per kg) which they served me with a smile. I never saw them slicing it as i was busy chatting to an aquaintance.

When i got home i was disgusted that at least a third of it was pure fat. It cost me £3-60 so i cut all the fat off,bagged it back up and took it back to shop. I asked her to weigh it and it was the aquivalent of exactly a third of the weight. She gave me £1-30p back.

It wasn't the money but the principal..... if i ask for 4 slices of best ham then that's what i expect to get.

Good for you Astrolady.
I hate it when you find the top slice on a pile of sliced ham is nice and lean and the fatty ones they have craftily put underneath the lean one. Grrrr.

£18 per kilogram!!! that's dear, no wonder they were smiling.

I buy a gammon ham joint and boil it up in the pressure cooker - it's a fraction of the cost it is to buy loose ham and tastes so much better too. It costs us £3 for three-quarters of a kilo.

We also get a ham shank and boil it in the pressure cooker to make pea soup, they have recently gone up to £1.99.
£18 a kilo sounds very expensive.

Last Thursday we bought a pack of 6 tomatoes from Aldi. By Sunday they had all started to go rotten. I intend to complain when we go there again tomorrow.

More people should complain and take items back - we may get better service in future then (I always do BTW)
