How Much???!!!

Have you seen the price of real christmas trees?
Would you pay these extortionate prices just for a real one on xmas day?
I have a lovely artificial one and it comes out each year ....no needles no mess.

Re: How Much???!!!

I know Aysa, even the roadside sellers are charging £35!
I have two small Xmas trees in pots outside my front door that I've grown from tiny ones that cost a couple of pounds a few summers ago! One day they'll be big enough to decorate! I don't think I'll bring them inside though, they'll get too hot!

Re: How Much???!!!

We've had an artificial, fibre-optic tree for about 18 years and it's still working fine and we still get people thinking it is a real tree.

If this one does pack-up we will get another like it.

We haven't got it out this year as we packed it, ready to move!

It's just the two of us now so we normally do it for the kids and grandchildren but there's something warm and comforting about a dressed tree and twinkling lights isn't there?

Our town centre spent - er - not lot on street decorations yet hundreds turned out for the switch-on, us included.

Makes you feel nice and we don't get enough of that! stevmk2

Re: How Much???!!!

For more than 50 years I have always bought a real tree, some rooted and some not. Two of the rooted ones are in my garden quite happily growing. Each tree has cost anything between £35 - £50. This year I decided enough is enough so I bought a 6ft loo brush! I wasn't too impressed when I first removed it from it's cardboard coffin but I must say now it is fully decorated and lit it looks a treat. The best part is, no more yearly tree expense and I'm sure this one will "see me out!" Happy Christmas everyone.

Re: How Much???!!!

As solo said if people keep paying these prices then who can blame the sellers i for one don't blame them. If people are daft enough to pay these ridiculous prices then its them that are causing it is it not?⛄🎄

Re: How Much???!!!

Have never had a real tree, always felt too sorry for them rotting over the Yule period. Don't have a tree at all these days, had too many doggy accidents with lights and baubles.

Re: How Much???!!!

Always always always buy a real tree.
Nurseries charge a small fortune so never go there now.
We go into the New Forest where conservation volunteers sell them from a specially maintained forest/wood.
They charge by the foot I think it's about £5 per ft.
Ours is over six foot but they only charged us £20 as the top bit needed trimming down!
It's in a red holder and the holder is kept full of water, minimal needle drop.

Only had a real tree once, never again, the tree wasn't too bad during the festive period but when it came to moving it outside afterwards , blimey, I was hovering for England !!!
