The Cost of the Epidemic.

Hi

The cost is enormous .

There is no getting away from this and we will all be hit.

There is no easy way out of this.

Everybody, except the politicians will take a hit.

Everybody will be hit and not just in this country.

The great Depression, much more devastating than the 1929 event, has yet to be realised let alone got under way.

They're saying that it's not as bad as the banking bailout of 2008 of £500B (yet)

We will all be burdened for years to pay back these £Billions
Will this money all go to the right businesses and people?
Or will it be like Foreign Aid, given indiscriminatly and not accounted for. and plunderd by Managers.

There's a need to change the paradigm. To think waay beyond the UK economy and try to envisage the global economy.

George Soros has commented on the "what comes next picture" but makes it clear that it's too early to make serious investment decisions but whichever way one looks the certainty is that it's NOT going to be a case of "back on your heads, boys".

I think we can safely say one thing ...

If the R number gets to 1 again ... or there is a second wave (which is highly likely) .. the government won't call another lockdown after seeing how damaging and costly the first one is ..
They'll regretfully, but probably out of necessity allow it to rip through the population, do it's worst and have done.
Or I'm just plain cynical.

No doubt some clever people will make a fortune out of misery, especially The Banks.
