Yes, it's attached to a dead branch on our apple tree. The "pebbles" are actually sunflower seeds, and they have now vanished.
It doesn't seem to have stopped birds using it so I might leave it as it is.

Thanks Fruity, this inspired me to snap some recent shedtop garden. It appeared this year for the first time because a few months back a squirrel liked that spot for opening nuts an dropping bits ...
