I wrote to a family member on 14 December when I heard about the new variant and factored in news reports about mink in Denmark and bird flu in the UK. A couple of days later bird flu was found on the IOW. I wonder if they're linked. If not, the only purely scientific research we can be sure to rely on is Todger's reports from the Express and his slime trails (which sci fi movies sparked that one???).
