What kind of music did you listen to when you were a teenager? I loved rock and roll and carried a transistor radio with me every where I went.

I bought a few complete operas on records when I was young - I also bought Bill Hayley's " Rock Around the Clock".

Yes remember dancing in the street to Elvis and Bill Haley. My friend had a record player and she was allowed to turn it up full blast and we used to dance outside her house as we were not allowed to go in the house
Then came the Beatles when I was 15 so that was a new era I loved.

I listened to anything and everything - if it got the foot tapping and me dancing I loved it.

Also used to love listening to the pirate radio caroline under the bed covers (seems strange now).

I used to love David Bowie, Suzi Quatro, Queen - that sort of thing; anything with a strong beat and whacky lyrics. Then also liked Pink Floyd, Electric Light Orchestra and Deep Purple.

Initially it was Radio Luxembourg - on 208 mtrs. Later it was the music on Radio Caroline and Radio North Sea International. I never cared for Radio1.

My first 'teenage LP' was John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton AKA the 'Beano' album. I still love the blues and listen regularly to Paul Jones' R&B show on Radio2.
