Re: Do you like your own company

I need and enjoy others for company and social interaction. It feeds my brain and my heart.

But I also need and covet quiet time to myself for a good balance. I am never bored.

Re: Do you like your own company

I'm just about dead average with that. MY wife, son (23) and I are a very close unit. We get on very well, love each other's company and do lots of things together. Some say we are "weird". It seems they think we should hate each other. We couldn't give less of a toss about what they think if we tried. But at the same time, my son has the whole ground floor of our house to himself, my wife has her own study and I have mine where my butt is settled right at this moment waiting for bushfire alerts. Sometimes I have to have alone time. I don't mind my own company. We are lucky. We have struck a nice balance.

You're right Keezoy, some unnatural loners need lessons in gregariousness, likewise, a pseudo socialite needs training in oneness, hopefully, their chosen partner has the skills to provide this training, it can't come from a "Professional".

(Or one who professes to be).

When you work for yourself, you have to learn to get on with the Boss, you might not like him, but, your stuck with it.

Bit of both for me too.
Having great (human, real life) friends is essential but I wouldn't want to put the world to rights with them every day.
I like some "me time" too where you can have time to relax and think.
The forum is escapism. You can turn people on and off whenever you like. You can definitely tell who are the ones who have no social life though.

Re: Do you like your own company

When I first lived alone 15 yrs ago I found life very lonely so I would always be out with friends trying to run away from the loneliness. I'm a different person now I have found a contentment in my own company and I dont spread myself thinly anymore . I can happily spend days in my own company. I go out by myself to cinema even theatre or days out preferring my own company

It's funny how we change isn't it but I'm pleased I have
