No.747: "In Utero" by Nirvana (1993)

Nirvana's last album was showing very strong moves towards megaband status for this three-piece until Kurt Cobain overdosed and that was prematurely it, but not before they achieved a posthumous legacy of God-like status. Personally, I've never really understood their popularity, despite some good songs.

No.746: "The Glory Of Gershwin" by Larry Adler & Various Artists (1994)

Not strictly a compilation hence it's inclusion in my list. Veteran harmonica player Adler was joined on this innovative project by many of today's rock, pop and jazz stars to create of quite lovely interpretation of George Gershwin's most famous compositions. Artists featured included Meat Loaf, Sting, Lisa Stansfield, Jon Bon Jovi and many others including a glorious finale of 'Rhapsody In Blue' arranged by George Martin.
I found this clip which features Adler and Cher from the album:

Last one for today, folks...
No.745: "Hums Of The Lovin' Spoonful" by The Lovin' Spoonful (1966)

One of the great flowery garage-pop bands of mid-60's America, John Sebastian's Lovin' Spoonful brought us a succession of catchy pop hits none better than this true classic:

Once again thanks for all your hard work.

There was a quiz question on TV last night.
What movie's sound track consisted entirely of Gershwin's music?
A: Manhattan by Woody Allen .

John Sebastian is a good writer.
This is a favourite in our house.
Joe Cocker sings Darlin Be Home Soon.

Hard work it is mate, when I can get things right

I didn't know that about the film Manhattan, in fact neither about Joe Cocker singing on Darlin' Be Home Soon.
That's the beauty of all this, I'm gaining knowledge as I go along too, and that can only be a good thing.

Thanks for your continued tuning in bud

Re: Floydy's All-Time Top 1000 Favourite Albums

This is an album I bought after seeing them.
Two members of this band went on to be 2/3rds of Cream. The other I saw in the Yardbirds

I've got three albums by this band, Warleyron. They could have gone so far if Bond himself hadn't died so young.
Their classic "Sound of '65" album is in my list soon.
Thanks for posting that bud
