My visit to the NHS on Friday.

Hi

The Saga continues.

I was booked in for an Operation on my right eye,it would have improved vision in it from less than 5% to 45 to 50%, a huge improvement in my life.

Picked up by Hospital Transport, an Ambulance.

I had my scan ages ago and a swab a fortnight ago to make sure it was free from infection.

Bag packed, everything thing ready to go.

Admitted then the shock.

The Swab had shown a continuing Infection, which they had known about but not treated.

The Scan had shown some shrapnel in my eye, nobody has mentioned this at all previously.

Net result, no Operation, not within NHS Guidelines currently.

Can I have it done Privately?

Yes.

Sent home,again by Ambulance.

What a waste of NHS money.

Private Costs in the UK, nearly £7000 plus aftercare.

Cost in Poland, £1800 plus travel, which is less than £100.

It seriously annoys me, as this was a Work Injury, working for the Government.

I will be having this done end of May.

I still have another Issue, my Ear.

It had better be done next Friday as promised.

It is very annoying Swimmers, if you are a Private patient, they will you in straight away.

Thats really annoying ,but seems typical of the NHS now. All BEST WISHES for your coming op. I hope all goes well for you. My friend had a similar experience, she needed a bowel operation [an [illeostomy ] but on the NHS a year to 18 months wait, private a few weeks at a cost of £7000,as she didnt have the money she has taken out an equity on the house and is now recovering
