Capsule wardrobe

Do you pack wisely for holidays abroad?
Or do you pack plenty and put your case in the hold

I've tried twice to get everything to fit in to a cabin sized case but it ain't happening!
I suppose if I wasn't going for two weeks it'd be easier

Re: Capsule wardrobe

I'm useless Rhian totally useless.

I start out being really sensible then I start to think what shoes will I wear with this or that and if I take this I have to take that... ends up a total nightmare and I'm over the limit looking for things to leave behind I only ever wear about half of it by the way.... so sorry no tips on sensible packing from me

Have a great holiday

I hardly ever have hold luggage. It's so much easier travelling with hand luggage only and I think I've got it down to a fine art.

And you're right it's definitely the " that goes with that/those" thing that scuppers it!

Re: Capsule wardrobe

Pick a colour scheme and then ensure that everything you take goes with each item then you don't need so much.

Re: Capsule wardrobe

I always tend to over pack. I have cut back a lot over the years but I can remember times when I have watched the luggage handlers struggling with our two cases. India was the best because half way through, I had the whole lot dry cleaned for £5.

Re: Capsule wardrobe

I find it impossible to travel light so I'm afraid no advice from me.

Why worry anyway so long as you aren't over the baggage allowance.

I don't see the point of trying to get it all in a cabin case - what do you save? When you get off the plane you've still got to wait while other passengers get their stuff off the carousel. (unless you're an independent traveller of course)

My idea of travelling light is taking travel sized toiletries.
