Why shouldn't it have a black presenter? Your (non)senisbities aside, she was an England football team member (which I suppose, given her colour dooesn't count), she has a lot of punditry experience and her experience is not prior to the birth of most of the viewers. There is absolutely no reason, beyond racism impure and very simple, why she should not have the job.

If Sue Barker had decided to leave the show or was forced to leave because she couldn't put a sentence together then I agree, there is absolutely no reason why she shouldn't be considered for the job. But Sue was doing a good job (despite being white and over 25).

Alienating older loyal viewers is not a good move, people have more choices. A familiar face on the TV or voice on the radio, someone to relate to, see nothing wrong in that.

bbc do not have the monopoly and wokes won't be as supportive, but certainly vociferous in their complaints and opinions.
