Think he's referring to supply and demand.

Anyway, this policy has been around for a few days..wearing masks in communal areas such as corridors etc. Unless something dramatically changed in the timeframe Swimmy refers to??? Not seen anything on the news about this.

One would have thought that most households have managed to get hold of some masks by now But I can see the need for there to be a supply provided to schools for less well off children, or to replace those that break/get damaged etc.

On another subject, but related to returning to school, as we all know many children rely on public transport to travel between home and school. This may be a problem. I know of one school which has told parents that they should bring their children in by car, which will cause huge difficulties in terms of traffic management (more so than the historic school runs).

It would be easier if militant mothers stopped dicking everyone around, they are the reason the government is having to change its plans

Re: Back to School

Have to admit that it's not clear to me how "militant mothers" have changed gov policy

The idea is to mitigate the likelihood of spreading the infection in places where close proximity is unavoidable. Even handing out worksheets/books/equipment is not without danger.

Went to get a refund for some jeans in Matalan yesterday. The assistant was not allowed to touch the jeans nor the receipt, and I had to put the garment in a "holding" basket after the transaction. If this level of protection is considered reasonable (and it probably is), then how the hell can this be replicated in other workplaces...in this case "schools"?

Militant mothers are the ones saying they won't send their kids to school because "its not safe". Their political protests at the government and Boris Johnson is far more important to them than their kids having mental health problems in years to come, even though the scientific advise and medical advise says its perfectly safe to do so.

Every other parent doesn't have a problem sending their kids to school.

Re: Back to School

Masks do not have to be bought, any face covering will suffice, even the poorest of families can find something that will work - a pillow case cut up will make a few, no sewing , a couple of elastic bands

Other countries are managing, why do we have to make such a song and dance about it

Kids need to be in school its as simple as that

Re: Back to School

If our brats were still of school age there is absolutely no way they would be returning to school at this time or until a proven vaccine was available. No way.
