Yes Bruce, but they roped us into the Korean war, tried to involve us in the Vietnam war, and managed to get us involved in the Iraqi and Afghanistan wars.

You can't have it both ways. Either you support your allies or you don't. Britain has a poor record in this area.

The Korean, Vietnam and Iraqi wars were nothing to do with us, - we should have (as we did with Vietnam) stayed well away from them.

I am in favour of being friends with anyone but a good friend knows they can say no this is not a good idea, and a better friend will listen and understand that you don't want to be involved.
