* This may not be the case, as Michael Gove's "contact" illustrated - as part of a "40,000 person daily contact testing study", he was exempt from self-isolation as long as he tested (negatively) daily - Downing Street is one of the workplaces taking part in the scheme, which launched on 9 May 2021 so, presumably, all "employees" are part of the study .....

Your quoting Sky News where Burley Rigby and Co broke all the lock down rules for Burleys 85th birthday party

Brilliant Omah ... your a hypocrite and so is sky news

Hi

Getting infected is a risk if you are working.

I have no issues with Savid at all.

Boris and Rishi trying to avoid the rules are just plain wrong.

As usual, BJ wanted to do as he pleased .....
Twitter shows Chancellor posted he was self isolating, two minutes later one saying PM was doing likewise.

This must be one of the fastest government U-turns ever: 157 minutes after saying the PM and chancellor wouldn't be isolating, Downing Street decided they would.

The reason is set out by Rishi Sunak on Twitter - ministers can't be seen to be following different rules to everyone else.

But questions will be asked about why No 10 initially said they would be escaping isolation. Who made the decision? Who signed it off? The prime minister and chancellor must have known about the plan.

There's also the fact that the PM and chancellor had the choice over whether to isolate - which most people don't at the moment.

The political symbolism is also highly significant. Three senior government ministers will be in isolation on the day almost all legal restrictions are lifted in England.

Isolation at Chequers for BJ will be no picnic .....

The decision making in No 10 is highly suspect.

Too many mistakes.

The reporting by the BBC (and the media which jumps on the bandwagon without checking) is highly suspect.

Far too much false information and far too many deliberate mistakes.

Media hype is the norm, that's what they do.

Leadership from government not followship, it is disconcerting that the success of the vaccine is being weakened by continued dithering. At the start mistakes were acceptable not now.

When Maggie was in power we had spitting image and all sorts of lampooning that does not happen today. The press were like the hogs they showed as puppets on that show. Such antics are like water off a ducks aaahs if you are a strong leader. Seems people want a woke media to wrap news in cotton wool.

People just want an acceptable level of reporting.
