Thanks Everyone, had a great day out in Whitby with a splendid fish and chip lunch at the famous Magpie Fish Restaurant. A bit cloudy when we arrived but the sun came out during lunch and it turned out beautiful. Couldn't resist running up the 199 steps to the Abbey. It was quite a long drive and I was too tired to come on the forum last night....
But thanks for all of your birthday wishes, and I wish I could take you all out for a drink.....
AT WHITBY
Sweat trickles down between my breasts,
the wind makes macramé of my hair,
climbing up to Whitby Abbey -
just ten more steps, and I am there!
Thigh muscles screaming in protest -
but that view is worth the climb,
just to be in these hallowed ruins
is to stand on the edge of time.
Gulls and ghosts haunt these cliffs,
the glow of sunset bleeds into the sea.
As I watch the ending of a perfect day -
my contented soul flies free !

I'm sure you've heard about this before, but talking of 'ghostly goings on' I believe that in the past due to erosion of the cliffs coffins began to appear out of the side of the cliffs just below the churchyard above them.
Well, that's the story anyway! Not only Dracula after all, then.
