Whats happened to Dominique Raab!
What is Dominique up to?I looked on him as one of the few rational mps in parliament ?
Now he has gone off and suggested that 3 million hong kong
inhabitants could find sanctuary in uk with some sort of
residential rights? This to protect them from new chinese imposed
laws?
Where did this idea come from?
He knows the situation in uk regarding housing and all the other
issues stemming from both legal and illegal immigration?
And surely this idea goes against governments stated policy to
reduce the numbers of both??

He is right to say that. Australia, USA, Canada and New Zealand have also said the same.
China have broken their promises to Hong Kong and forcing it into Chinese communism. People there with UK dual nationality passports should have the choice on where to live, in a democracy or in a communist country.

OP regarding uk immigration? Let these countries that are willing
to accept millions of migrants do so, but do not tie uk to any
binding commitment for us to do so?
It should be enough for us to express solidarity only
This country has enough political uncertainty at present without
putting more grist to the mill?
If this goes through l will add it to the list of bad decisions taken by
this government since coming to power? It would probably rank as
the biggest blunder so far imo??
My motto is finish one job BEFORE starting another, or you end up

We have no obligation to hong kong citizens as we handed over
the territory under a long standing international treaty!which we
honoured? If china breaks the treaty should'nt the international
community deal with it??

I'd agree with taking in some of the Hong Kong people, at least those with British citizenship. If I'm correct, they would be an asset to this country, bringing in skills and abilities which we would benefit from.However, we have already allowed in - actually, it appears that we have invited them in - thousands, or possibly millions of people from Africa and the Middle East (via France) who really have no right to be here. Most, if not all of them, are of no benefit to this country and, in fact, are much more likely to the detriment of our country.
In short, I'd be in favour of inviting in some of the Hong Kong people if, and only if, we could remove all of the illegal immigrants already here and also stop any more coming in.
