Re: Plant identification

There's nearly always a bee or two on them. The Salvia in the first photo is in a lightweight plastic pot because it covers the hole where the washing line pole goes into the ground. This has to be moved on washdays. I have to choose my moment to move it because bees are on it. I sometimes forget to look out for them but haven't been stung yet.

Re: Plant identification

Even though the weather is poor today, the bees still think it's worth turning out for the Salvia (nice to know the plant's name now ). Here is one..

Re: Plant identification

I love Salvias, very good value for money!
I've been after Amistad this year, Monty on Gardener's world keeps mentioning it so it's always sold out! Lovely dark purple!
Anyone got a cutting?

Re: Plant identification

Mart, this is my mauve one. It is like a mauve version of Hotlips and it's called Amethyst Lips.

I've also got a 'shocking pink' one a friend gave me from a cutting she took.
They flower for months don't they.

Re: Plant identification

Mauve (or purple) is a favourite colour here. Now that Mrs mart knows there is one, she wants one or two.
