Nice to see just how good the EU is at negotiating on behalf of the French fishermen

The self serving mafia won't give them second thought, they will just let them suffer. I mean its not as if anyone can get rid of Dear Leader and her unelected cronies is it....

More QE thats what they need !

A No Deal means no Quota allowance, the Norwegians already have that and they will not be giving it up.

A simple fact of life, the vast majority of fish caught in UK Waters is not those that we eat, the EU Nations do.

We do not eat herring, mackerel, sprats, pilchard, dabs, megrim and the rest in vast quantities, the EU Countries do.

We farm a lot of Salmon. when Tariffs are introduced the Norwegians will take over. they are Tariff Free.
No Swimmy, we are on a winner, they want it, they pay for it
No blackmail needed!!l

France and others are likely to counter by claiming that their fishermen are entitled to fish in UK waters if there is a surplus of fish, which there certainly would be, given the relatively small size of the UK fishing fleet and given what will almost certainly be its reduced ability to sell its fish to its neighbours. The concept is touched upon in Unclos.

The UK government has promised that Brexit will give Britain back control of its waters – but, in the absence of a deal, Professor Barnes thinks that that “may well be, in practical terms, an undeliverable promise”.
Very much like the fish wars between uk and iceland Solly
When uk fishermen had their custom and practice rights
removed by international courts!
The same criteria will apply in eu v uk dispute!

The reason for their early surrender in ww2 Realspeed, was
Because half of them are actually german
They became french after ww1 when france took a large
portion of germany as reparations for the war!
That resulted in the dunkirk debacle!

Re: French Fishermen Threaten to stop UK Exports

The fishing ground shyte is about to hit the fan!
Our esteemed government have been doing what they are
good at up to now ( kicking the can down the road,) in
the hope, presumably to use as leverage for something
else?
Fishing has hardly been mentioned since so called
negotiations started, but imo it should have been dealt with
far earlier as the ramifications for the north and coastal
regions of uk cant be overstated!
If we havent started building patrol boats yet, we should be
sourcing them for us to purchase straight away!
We must not cave in to threats and intimtdation!

So by your reckoning Alsace and the Saarland account for half the French and were responsible for Dunkirk

Back in the 70’s I remember a member of the BEF who was evacuated from Dunkirk telling me the following:

After Belgium being the site is major battles in the Napoleonic and First World wars it didn’t want to be the site of another hence the Maginot line stopped at the Belgium border. The Germans then just ignored the heavily defended Maginot line and invaded through Belgium, and the allied forces who rallied against that invasion were pushed back by the then superior capability of the German army, resulting in the evacuation from Dunkirk
I remember him saying he still suffered flashbacks to his time on Dunkirk beach yet for all that he suffered he held no grudges against any nations.
