A pervert in my neighbourhood..

I just found out that the chap who lives across the road from us has been found distributing & making indecent images of children.
On the surface he's a well respected man - 68 years old - owns a small art gallery on our road - the picture of respectability.

He's been released on bail and is awaiting the Crown Court.

OMG but it's his wife & family I feel so sorry for - the wife especially - her life is ruined.
Why do they do it?

The excuse a School Govenor gave at my Son School was because his WIFE was ill and it effected him so much it made him look at indecent images of children .
Yes he was a well respected man and yes his wife was suffering from a long term illness, What made me shudder was the school did weekend camp for the infants and he was one of the Adults in charge , and happened to be supervising the tent my son was in .
He did not get sent down but was given a course to go to,,to stop him doing it again .And although he was also suppose to stay away from Children ,He was back at the school within no time with his family at the school ,for the open day .

I personally know someone who is serving time in prison for being a child molester. His wife was too embarrassed to tell me the real reason for the marriage break up, but I was told the truth by her sister in law a little afterwards. The story was all confirmed by someone else.

Again, it's the wife to be pitied. I would never let on to her - if we should meet in the streets - that I know the truth.

To say I was deeply shocked was an under statement.

What worries me is there are far more people doing this than you can imagine.
When they are found out, they all have some excuse, like the terrorist murderers who all seem to have a mental problem
In my view they all know they are breaking the law, so are criminals and should be treated as such!
It is sad for the innocent families, but in some cases, the wives do know and are just happy that their men are getting their pleasures elsewhere. I know of one case where the wife also received some punishment, because she knew what was going on and did nothing to stop it ( but this case involved actual sexual abuse).

I have a feeling many times our sexual preferences are set in childhood and teen years, what we see and experience have an enormous affect. I always said I couldn't be attracted to a certain type of man would rather remain celibate than live with one, looking back the abuse in my childhood left that impression on me.

What does worry me is an odd phenomena when some young pop stars thinking Beiber here, come on the scene seemingly normal middle aged women go mad and say all sorts of strangely quite worrying things about them and what they would like to do to him, but they are tolerated and even encouraged !

We give very mixed messages within our society and instead of trying to bring paedophiles out and treat them, we make them secretive and that is more dangerous for children.

When we were young there was always those odd ones that we knew were dirty old so and sos and we persecuted them by shouting and banging on their doors , it was known to keep away from them and we did and warned others of them .

I know of one who is about to leave prison after 5 yrs , yet he was given 10 by the judge .

Another I know who served 3 months for looking at pictures whos life has been ruined as he can't get work and is now horrified at his own stupidity labelled a pedophile for the rest of his life , he lives with great remorse

Strange how people turn out or is it,there is a guy who used to work in the factory where I do and indeed in the same department he was married with three kids,but was always into porn,nothing extreme just the usual naked women in all their glory,his marriage broke up and fast forward about ten yrs,he was found guilty back in the spring of this year of having 285,000 child porn images stored on 32 devices,the cops gave up counting at that number.
His sentence was 18 months suspended for two yrs,and a 60 day one to one rehabilitation course,this followed an assessment with a social worker because he had turned into a total recluse not leaving the house and having very poor health.

So how was he found out? Are all the computers in the land, monitored in some way?
If they are, aren't these people who take and distribute the images aware of thiis?
I think certain words are picked up during a phone call?

I think that too ... if the 'urge' or 'interest' is in leering over kids nothing is going to change them. They probably don't even think they are sick. They certainly don't find it repellent as any normal person would.
