A bad day for the beautiful game.

What is this country coming to when it can ban a football player for having a little snack? Is this the end of the game?

Sutton United have accepted the resignation of reserve goalkeeper Wayne Shaw, who is under investigation for potentially breaching betting rules.

The Gambling Commission and Football Association are investigating if there was a breach of betting regulations after the 46-year-old ate a pie during Monday's FA Cup loss to Arsenal.
I hope he put a few bob on himself Now we know we're all the pies have gone

I wish they would ban football, it wastes so much time and money!

If all professional footballers put half their earnings into the NHS for a year who knows what improvements could be achieved!!
And they'd gain a small degree of respect from me, overpaid plonkers most of 'em

The money and time spent on the game and players just seems ridiculous to me, when it is just a matter of kicking a ball around for heaven's sake. I am so glad my husband has absolutely no interest in the game or any other sport for that matter.

So he gets the push and doesn't make any money...maybe the pasty makers go into partnership with him?
