Wouldn't it be funny if in English shops, the customer asks in English and is offered a lower price and if they ask in Urdu they're charged 50% more?

Works both ways.

Yes, I run into that many times, here in Mexico. Especially from taxi drivers.
I just tell them, "No mas dinero. Mi no estupido"

When I lived in The Philippines, I usually had my GF buy stuff for me. She always got the lower price and I was not ripped off.
