DAB Radios

Has anyone used one of these?

A friend bought me one for Christmas and I am trying to find Radio4 extra on it without much success.

Re: DAB Radios

Hi Tabs

Just been Googling it but there seems to be conflicting advice from the BBC. They say it is a available just after Radio4 then they say it is not available on DAB.

Is it for streaming podcasts etc?

Re: DAB Radios

I don't like either of mine. They cut out & back in at times & you miss parts of the program. I only listen to radio2 on them.

I used to love playing DABS as a kid but that's as far it goes.

Re: DAB Radios

I think they are going to phase out ordinary radio's eventually & we'll only get DAB's. Shame as I really don't like them.

Oh dear - I do hope not. All I can find on this thing so far is pop music. I wanted Radio4Extras because that has all the old comedy shows and dramas on it. Can't access them on ordinary radio.

Re: DAB Radios

I used to like Sherbet Dabs but I've never seen the point of DAB - IME, it's never been better than FM in consistent cound quality ..... and then there are alternatives - the internet, Freeview or satellite.

It seems that you can get Radio4Extra on the internet:

You can stream 4Xtra (formerly Radio 7) on your PC or smart TV. I now use an Amazon Echo for listening to radio via its `Tune In` App which is also a streaming service.

You can get it on-line from here:
