Re: Chinese Coronavirus

I've just assumed it is all along. There were studies that indicated this early on. One where they were in a meeting room and confirmed infection just through apparently breathing in the same area over a table. That's why it's ok to be outside as it's all dispersed quickly but indoors everyone should wear a mask if they congregate for a longer period. Plus they should open doors and windows where possible. They suspect it lingers in air con units.

Terrible news; two more Australian Covid deaths in the last 24 hours. The Victorian deaths bring the state's total deaths to 22.

NSW - Victoria border to close on Wednesday. The SA Victoria border was already closed in March.

Our border needed to lock out those infected Vics a week or more ago.

Victoria has recorded 191 new cases of coronavirus overnight, the largest single-day increase so far in the state.

The record number of new infections brings the number of active cases of COVID-19 to 772.

Of the new cases, 37 are linked to known outbreaks and the remaining 154 are under investigation — meaning health officials are still tracing the source of the infection.

The possibility of further lockdowns is a real prospect, with Premier Daniel Andrews previously warning more postcodes could have restrictions reimposed on them if the virus continues to spread.

The border to NSW closes at midnight tonight, permits are still not yet available at Service NSW. Trains will stop at Albury, the last XPT train from Melbourne arrived this morning

NSW Police and military will control the border crossings so Victoria Police can handle the lockdown

Re: Chinese Coronavirus

People who went to pubs on Saturday tested positive and the pubs had to close again.
How did they suddenly decide to get tested and how did they get results back so quickly?
How long do the tests take?
Can you get tested on Sundays?
Have I missed something?

If they felt ill before they went they must be stupid and selfish.

On a recent hospital visit I had a test on a Friday and received a text on the Sunday for negative.
But I'm like you in being a bit puzzled as to why pub visitors in particular would get tested, unless they were tested elsewhere.
This virus is not going away.

ETA:Just heard on the radio that a customer in a pub in Burnham on Sea had had a test and was awaiting results which turned out positive,so in the meantime he/she could have infected others.

You can say that again TessA.
Still no feedback on the tens of thousands who stormed the beach or the BLM protests. Surely somebody must have taken Covid to the beach or to the protests....

Yet a few people go down the pub and are immediately singled out.....Very Strange....

Something else a little strange also;
Apparently there have been no flu deaths this winter according to official figures....
That will be the first time this has happened since recording the statistics began....

What I find Odd is this, Scientists reckon the longest life span of the Virus is about 72 hours on a perfect hard surface, if this is the case, why bother deep cleaning? just close an establishment for three days, then, off you go again, could be though the scientists don't trust their own data.
