At last - The Outcome

I just had some good news today for a change.

Some might remember last November I had a driver smash into my front garden wall, and then do a runner.
Well at last I have heard that the police got him and he was in the local magistrates court last week.

It seems he was:
Driving whilest disqualified.
Using the vehicle with no insurance.
Failing to stop after an accident.
Failing to report the accident.

He got a 12 months Community Order
180 hrs unpaid work
Disqualified from driving for another 12 months.

My wall has now been mended and I have replanted the flowerbed, so fingers crossed that will be the end of it now.

He should have been put in the pillory and flogged as well .....

I bet they could have got him for drink/driving too, if the police had done their job better!
Glad it is all sorted anyway.

Mups, with all the stuff you've had to sort out lately I'm beginning to think of you as an Olympic steeplechaser ... leaping over all those hurdles and getting a medal in the end.

Doing the right thing would be if he offered on his own to come over and help with the yard work but likely that's not going to happen.

Glad though that it ended well.

Re: At last - The Outcome

Thanks very much all.

I admit it has been a bit of a trying time the last 12 months, what with all the subsidence worries, having workmen in, then the wall accident too, but hopefully this year will be a bit easier for me now.
