Well ... almost.
...and worms and beetles etc.

Nothing explains why, if they're producing slime, it must come out of their bodies therefore they must be losing weight as they move.
If we left a trail of fat (other substances are available) we would be lighter after a long walk

Sometimes if our cat hadn't eaten all his food in the evening we would put it out for him (he was nocturnal)
In the mornings the food would always be gone but usually there were telltale silver trails all around it

If you want them to stop eating your hostas... buy some Whiskas!

Yes, here's the evidence.

One of the little buggers had somehow got into the kitchen and was helping him/herself to the cat food.

Thode big Spanish ones are cannibals, they'll eat their own. That's what they're doing in my photo I think.
