Spider lunch

Following on from Tessa's slug bafflement...
There's a spider's web attached to the gutters above my bedroom window.
It's been there weeks.
Thing is there's been a fly stuck in it for weeks too.
Why hasn't the spider been to eat it?
How many webs have they got exactly?

Re: Spider lunch

Perhaps the fly ate the spider.
Perhaps the spider is a vegan.
Perhaps a chicken ate the spider.

Perhaps it hitched a lift on a wing mirror into town.
Perhaps it has a holiday home in the sun for winter

Re: Spider lunch

The spider may well have eaten it ( they basically suck the insides out of it leaving the outer skin skeleton )

Re: Spider lunch

Seriously yes , a spider for want of a better way of describing it ...pumps in a digestive juice , turns it to soup then sucks it all out ... very good way of eating as it saves washing up and buying cutlery

This forum is the fountain of all knowledge!!

Btw I have dishwasher!
And I'm not sure "pumping" my food would be considered quite the accepted standard of table etiquette anyway!!!
