Re: ATMs
They are getting very scarce. On Saturday I was out with my pals on a bit of a crawl and two of these machines were out of cash. I had to borrow £20 from a mate.Re: ATMs
I use my debit card virtually all the time. I do like to carry cash notes with me just in case but never usually go to a cash machine to get this, and instead go to the bank to withdraw cash notes and £1 coins for supermarket trolleys and parking meters.Re: ATMs
Then there are the ATMs that are a bit dodgy.Re: ATMs
I mainly use the Tesco ATM at my local branch, I use it at least once a week and never had a problem. I would never use any other one except while on holiday, because I think a few quid in my wallet is essential.Re: ATMs
I like to carry a couple of hundred bucks in my wallet just for "emergencies" so that is the only time I use an ATM, even then most of the time I get the money as cash out from the supermarket.Re: ATMs
They are trying to phase out cash. We had a thread about this recently. It's a big conspiracy and people are very complacent about it because they are so used to using cards. But they plan to phase out cards too eventually. It's just not profitable to use cash and cheques. This sort of change affects the most vulnerable in society. But most don't think about the implications or reasons. Because those affected have the least voice in society.
