Re: Flu jab 2018 booked

If it didn't work we'd have had another pandemic by now.... I am not sure why this fact has not sunk in. Bring up all the studies you like but that is the elephant in the room.

Hi AnnieS...BF here......I do live in Canada, just a tad east of Toronto. Most of the pharmacies here are able to give people their flu shots...and for me, that was easier than having to go back to my doctors office for mine...

I'm a big believer in herd immunity if enough of us have vaccinations we will protect everyone else too. If they offer a vaccination I take it because I might just be part of the solution to stopping a disease in it's tracks.

Re: Flu jab 2018 booked

I had one last year for free from my employer, I was advised it lessens the chances of getting colds too. It worked, I fidnt have one cold from September to June, when I got bronchitis. Not had the jab this year, yet.....

Your conclusion there that "it worked" is badly flawed I'm afraid.

A great many people who have flu shots equally won't catch flu or colds.

But many who have the flu shots WILL catch flu and/or will catch colds.

In fact having the flu shot greatly increases your chance of getting an ILI (Influenza like illness).

The flu shot doesn't do anything significant to prevent you catching the flu as per the established studies by respected research bodies like the Cochrane Library. Your choice though.

Have you just woken up to this? Look at any thread where Realist posts and nearly every message is a long winded repeat of the one before and the one before that and the one before that ad nauseum.

It doesn't matter which of his bonnet bees it is about whether it is Big Pharma, Freemasons, Vitamins or whatever flavour of the month conspiracy etc every message is far too long and a repeat of every one of his messages in the thread previously.

I've learned not to read them unless they are quoted by someone else and hopefully edited.

Re: Flu jab 2018 booked

If the flu jab, helps prevent me from getting the flu, then that's good enough for me and even if I do contract it,it will be a lot milder,....got mine yesterday, always seek advice from a professional,(Doctor),..and don't believe everything you read.

Re: Flu jab 2018 booked

Had mine a couple of weeks back without any ill effects.
Just had the pneumonia one a couple of days ago and that has made me a bit groggy for a couple of days.
