I think it right to judge someone who has children in their care, who doesn't always put them first. If you don't like that, TOUGH.

I don't mind it because it doesn't affect me at all. I have kids who will go that extra mile for a human or an animal, that are happy and make making other happy their priority. They are self sufficient and not reliant on others to make their lives the best they can. That is what I judge myself by not some non entity on an internet forum.

I have also treated my dogs as part of my family, as the kids are grownup and got their own homes I admit I do over fuss Dageus sometimes, but apart from my man who is always at work I only have Dageus.

If our house was on fire I'd pull out Maddie the cat first and go back for Mrs Fox later.....I don't have any life insurance on Maddie.....

When I had a pet, he/she was always fed before me......especially my cat, she would not tolerate me eating my breakie first....
