Bullsh*t!!! - there are a number of Cabinet Ministers who have indicated their opposition to such deal, and even if it gets through Cabinet, it still has to get past both Houses of Parliament, and that is doubtful in the extreme.

No. That would result in our remaining in the EU in all but name.

Even if Treason May is too stupid to see it, most of our MPs know that if they agree to that 'deal' the Conservatives can say goodbye to government, quite possibly for several decades.

I'm not convince many will be brave enough to risk their jobs UJ, and both houses are packed with remainers.

So you've read the 500 pages of the DRAFT agreement then?????????????

The best agreement is the one we already have.

Joe, me old pal, me old beauty...

Thank you for your intelligent and incisive response. In a further development this morning it was reported that the divided cabinet has passed the draft bill so it can be put to parliament.

I won't read it if you don't mind (I did look and read the two page summary) but there was an interesting discussion on The Drum last night which discussed Britain's exit as it appears now. The expression "political incompetence" cropped up several times.

https://iview.abc.net.au/show/drum (Wed 14th Nov edition @ 33.55 mins)

Summing up - the Professor (Syd Uni) on the panel said that if May gets her way Britain will not be able to negotiate any free trade agreements with anybody and will effectively still be in the EU but with no influence on policy.

Status of foreign workers in UK? - actual outcome - no one knows.
Status of UK citizens in the EU? - actual outcome - no one knows
Irish Border? - actual outcome - no one knows
Will planes still be able to fly between London to Paris? - no one knows.

The whole Brexit deal is shrouded in uncertainly even at this late stage.

The feeling was that Britain would have an extended withdrawal period because Britain's biggest trading partner is the EU and that the final outcome will be nothing like the Brexit proponents hoped for.

On a lighter note I did laugh with the comment by a journalist which was something like:

"For spectators from overseas this appeared to be more of a referendum about people being upset that every restaurant waitress was Polish rather than a deeply thought out idea about trade and relationships with other parts of Europe." (he was being facetious but there is an element of truth in that)

Re: Cold Hard Facts Regarding Brexit.

With the proposed deal you buy 2 maybe 3 years. The actual trade relationship can be arranged during this period. But the contours are already visible. As it seems, you will at best have the benefits of the EU, and no say in the decisions you nevertheless have to implement. Bad deal, but no deal is still worse.

I think what will happen is that we will end up accepting it. How different is this to Switzerland and Norway?

There will be a mini rebellion but the rest will step aside and watch the rebels fall to oblivion.

It's like being in the EU without all the stuff we didn't like. So I reckon we can cap immigrants, we can keep reciprocal healthcare and protect EU workers who are already here, we can put conditions on new EU workers and citizens, for example we don't have to accept their families, we can travel visa free, we can keep cheap food imports and medical supplies flowing freely, we protect businesses that are reliant on EU imports/exports. We maintain prosperity.

Who was ever going to be happy with any deal?
