GM crops - trials are back!

They have spent a million pounds of our money on trials in the UK

They try to scare us into thinking we need GM, we don't - the only benefit is to make the fat cats richer!!!! The food inudstry already makes a grotesque amount of money (just look at the profits of the big supermarkets!) they don't need this extra profit to the detriment of our health!

The latest GM crop trials have been condemned as a "scandalous misuse of public funds" by the Soil Association.

The campaign group's comments came after a project to produce genetically modified potatoes got underway in Norfolk.

Re: GM crops - trials are back!

Thanks Mags - tho I think that only applies to the US?

Here's something very worrying, about bovine growth hormone given to cows to make them produce more milk, it is made by Monsanto, the company behind most GM stuff:

This sort of stuff makes my blood boil! And good on these reporters for standing up what they believe is right.

The guy's right: "..their ought to be a principle higher than just making money" !! Too bad we can't enforce this in the business world!!

I understand the glue they stick those labels on with is harmful to us..

GM is very scary, nothing to do with 'feeding the world' but all about a few multinational companies getting a monopoly on food production.
