The Highland Laddie

Yes folks, it's Nero in his Natioal dress

The cap badge was my dads which saw action in France and Germany during WW2 . . . the outfit has lain for 15 years unused, I was at a posh birthday party last November and two chaps were wearing highland dress, I felt so guilty as this outfit had lain so long unused.

The kilt is Ancient Gordon tartan and this is formal dress, there is also the informal outfit which is a tweed jacet and green hose worn with ordinary oxford type black shoes . . . I also have the formal dinner jacket which is also black and slightly shorter.

As you can see . . . I'm all set for when Scotland gets her independence.

Wow! you look a striking fella in your National dress, Denis!

Very smart indeed and I'm pleased you shared your photo with us...

By the way, was it windy up in Scotland when you had the photo taken?

Very smart indeed Nero. Can you play the bagpipes as well? When he was alive my Uncle Campbell Thomas used to always wear his tartan when playing his bagpipes for all us kids.

A very smart and obviously proud Scot. A very impressive photo. You do the national dress justice.
