Somthing has happened to Google

When I do a Google search for a topic I have suddenly started getting a column down the left side of the page saying this...

MoreFewer
Search Options
    • The web
    • Any time
    • Standard view
Fewer search toolsMore
so I now have three columns instead of two I used to have , the new one, then my search topic in the middle column, then the 'click through' advertisements on the right.

This intruder column is really starting to irritate me, I don't know where it came from and I want it to go away

Google have updated their search... so now the options are on the left.

Must admin I preferred it the old way too.

DM - maybe it's not out in the US yet? Sometimes they stagger their releases...

For those who can't see what I am talking about I have found this page which shows a comparison between the new and the old layout..

I hope they don't mess around with it soon. Don't fix it if it ain't broke, as the saying goes. Yahoo has come up with some annoying changes too recently ... they are now telling me I have some messages from my contacts at the top of the page... well, d'oh, I can see that!! Aaargh!
