Artificial life

What are your views on the news that scientists have created artificial life?

Some scientists say its a step too far. I find it scary to be honest. Where will it end.

The house of commons had had artificial life for years MM . . . it's life . . . . but not as we know it.

TBH I think they're tinkering with things they should'nt be.

I'm all for scientific progress - the only thing that worries me is that fat cat companies can't be trusted.. just look what they're doing to our food!

Why does that make me think of Satan tempting Eve in the Garden of Eden? I think there are some things we shouldn't attempt. Robotic intelligence is one thing, artificial life gives me the creeps.

But they will probably do it .....

I think they will get all sorts of advances from this.

We are all artificial life forms anyhow - running in some giant computer program

I do not think it is right messing with nature but some times we have to look for answers to some problems in the most weird places.
I am not happy but as PP says it could lead to some lead to all sorts of advances.
