Rebus

Had a wonderful 4 weeks on a Saturday night watching John Hannah in Rebus. Finally something I enjoy on TV

It's Stottie's turn from this Saturday now

Anyone else into Rebus?

If you are, who was your favourite actor as Rebus?

Afraid not Pesta I can't watch police /detective dramas, I think every possible scenario has been used over the years and I am so old I have seen them all

Glad you have found something to enjoy on dismal Saturday nights ....

Re: Rebus

Re: Rebus

Funnily enough I recent had this conversation with my neighbour. She has watched all the Rebus series on TV and prefers John Hannah - probably because he was the first one.

I don't have a TV but have read most of the Rebus books and believe I would prefer Ken Stott as he is more the image that is in my mind of how Rebus would look.

Re: Rebus

I preferred Stott too probably because I saw him in it before I saw Hannah.

Yes I love Rebus - I've read all the books several times and have really enjoyed both Hannah and Stott as Rebus. It seems to have worked out well that Hannah played the early middle-aged Rebus and Stott the older (coming up to retirement) Rebus.

Re: Rebus

I have enjoyed all the Rebus books and always see Ken Stott in the role of Rebus. I've read most of Ian Rankin's books, but the best ones imo are the Rebus ones. I have only watched a couple of Rebus detective stories on the TV.

Re: Rebus

Love Rebus have most if not all of the books. In an interview when it first came onto TV, it turned out Ken Stott was asked to do it but he said no so John Hannah was asked, he said he was never comfortable with playing him and only did a few. Eventually Ken did take it over and he's Rebus to a T..
