Thank you everyone, tried the hair spray and that definitely helped. I had tried john freida serum etc but that left me with the stickiness I wasn't keen on. The golden hairspray I think we all know the one seems better as it brushes out.

We do have dry air especially in the winter with the heating on etc. Also I realised last night at work the carpet there is nylon and when I am trundling around cleaning my hair goes completely on end it's the static with my artificial soled shoes and the nylon carpet I think I could power the lights
