Why do they such appalling short sentences for owners who neglect their animals?

Banned from keeping animals for 5 years? .... she should be banned for life.

I didn't read the article, just the pictures were enough to upset me.

I really don't understand these people......I use the word "people" loosely......

I daren't look after seeing the responses Mups but I'm angry at the short punishment as I am guessing the clip is of horrible cruelty.

I can never understand the mentality of such vile people who inflict cruelty upon defenceless animal, they make me sick to my stomach and make me feel emotion I hate to feel, raging anger.

She can only be evil or mental. I can only think the people that dish out the sentences don't think it's that bad to mistreat animals.

I am actually pleased that the poor dog was finally put to sleep to save it suffering any longer.

I'm like you Lion Queen, I don't want to look at it because I don't want to go to bed with that awful picture of a cruelly treated Labrador, especially as I have had Labradors all my life.

I just wish I could spend just five minutes with that vile person, and give them just a fraction of what that poor dog must have gone through, but it would more than enough time to make her suffer plenty.

I don't know why such cruelty doesn't result in a lifetime ban on keeping animals .

Having a pet is a privilege not a right and those who treat animals cruelly forfeit that privilege.

I have never seen anything like that condition before.
It is beyond my comprehension how anyone can look at that poor suffering creature each day, and not do anything.

I wonder how long it takes to grow that bad?
Would it be weeks, months, years maybe?

Surely other people in the family would have seen it, or neighbours even? If they did, and never did anything, they are as bad as the owner.
