Google up the definition of treason.

EDIT

I've done it for you

the crime of betraying one's country, especially by attempting to kill or overthrow the sovereign or government.
"they were convicted of treason"
synonyms: treachery, lese-majes

the action of betraying someone or something.
plural noun: treasons
"doubt is the ultimate treason against faith"
synonyms: treachery, lese-majesty

Am l missing something Realist?

It’s all politics; Merkel and Macron (especially!) hint at no extension, but when it comes to it they graciously grant us one and are bogged up in the (Remain) media to be statesmanlike and noble.
Whereas if/when BoJo goes requesting an extension, as the Benn law forces him to, that same media portrays him as surrendering, or backing down. And if he defies the Benn law, that same media calls him a criminal, etc

But what if you are wrong? Boris goes to ask for an extension to renegotiate and that is denied As being insufficient reason? What will your mps do then?

Time will tell if I’m right or wrong.
But if the extension is refused, then the UK leaves on WTO terms. Imagine the irony of that, no deal being inflicted on us by the EU, not by BoJo.
What would the remainers make of that?

But given that the remainers have been in contact with the EU, as mentioned in a post on this or another thread, I don’t see that happening. Remember, their ultimate goal is to stop Brexit happening, this next extension is just one step towards that goal.

Maybe not ....

PARIS (Reuters) – France’s foreign minister said on Sunday that, as things stand, the European Union would not grant Britain an extension beyond Oct. 31 to negotiate its exit from the bloc.

“It’s very worrying. The British must tell us what they want,” Jean-Yves Le Drian told Europe 1 radio.

Asked if an extension beyond Oct. 31 was possible, Le Drian said not under current conditions. “We are not going to do (extend) this every three months,” he said.

That is renegotiate. That option was closed in december 2018. Are you deaf over there in the UK? So stop asking again and again.

Extension for referendum or GE? It is feasable, as both would result in remain.
