They're also building lots of Lidl, Aldi and Booths supermarkets in my locality - I have a new Booths and Home Bargains with a Lidl and an Aldi on the way - in a town of some 20,000 people.

Well if it makes you feel better, mine is only an ordinary BA whereas my wife has a doctorate.

I'm the one who feels inferior!

A bit off topic but things on the land will probably change a bit in the next few years. I live about half way from a city and `flat land`where things still rely on manual labour. 5 years ago no `yoof` would go and pick(that`s the job of those pollaks) Time moves on---now the gangmasters will not employ anyone from this country. It will end in tears

There are many reasons people refuse work, not being able to afford to take them being most obvious, I know when my husband went back to work after his stroke we got into about a thousand pounds of debt because it was six weeks between benefit stopping and first wages going into our account but mortgage, rent utilities etc still needed paying.

You then find the wages are too low to actually live on.

I have also witnessed jobs not being advertised in this country at all, just in Poland or similar.

Then bosses moan they can't get British workers.
