No, the EU wants a deal too. We have to replace the trade with the UK with other partners.
The internal market is there to protect members against competition from cheaper producing countries. E.g. lambs from the UK will probably be replaced by import from new zealand.
The british will, and can, eat their own produce because it matches the british internal market demand. You will not need to import any yourself. But oops, you have an agreement that obliges you to buy new zealand lamb. Since it is cheaper, what will happen to local produce?
So you will import cheap mutton from new zealand (the agreement abolishes import tariffs), but if you want to export your own to the EU the wto-rules say you have to pay tariffs, making it unattractive for the european market.
