EU issueing threats, again!!

Looks like EU has gone back to form again, with both Macron and
Barnyard opening trade negotiations with co-ordinated statements
about how they will punish us if we attempt to regain control of
what are legally our waters, and which are internationally
recognised as such? Macrons statements particularly are not much
short of a declaration of war! Saying French fishermen will totally
ignore any attempt to stop them fishing? In other words he is
guilty of incitement to cause friction between France and uk??
This is a man that purports to be a leading world leader!
If we are intimidated by this posturing then we deserve to continue
to sink from a second rate country to a third world one!!

I doubt that Macron's statements will have any effect. If French fishermen actually do poach on your waters, the Royal Navy will quickly shoo them away, like so many flies.

They might get away with it for a few days until our navy gets its collective finger out and all our remaining trawlers gang up against the Frog boats.

Hi

No point in getting upset, there will be months of claim and counter claim.

All Trade Deals are a compromise.

Neither the EU or the UK will get everything they want out of the negotiations.

The EU want unrestricted access to our fisheries, we want unrestricted access to EU Services.

All down to Boris and his team.

Macron already caved in over the changes to the backstop.

Barnier is still their chief negotiator too. He failed as well, he said the offer the EU would give would be so bad that we would prefer to stay in.

There is a pattern emerging here ....

You mean like javid saying the UK will diverge from EU rules, and only days later rowing back as fast as he can? And yesterday barclay, your british negotiator, stating again there will be no divergence. That is a well known pattern in british tactics. Why is it you think, the withdrawal deal is exactly as the EU wanted it to be?

But rest assured, during 2020 nothing changes in the rules on fishing. EU vessels will happily throw out their nets in british waters and british fishermen will catch as much non quota fish as they can.

No poaching, present rules and deals are in agreement with french boats fishing in british waters, at least during 2020.
As for patrolling to keep up the rules next year, they still have to build the boats for it. Let alone train custom personnel for them.

No we don't at all.

As a net importer of fish, we change our fishing policy to favour the UK only. If the rest of the EU want to fish our waters, it should be done by license and number of days at sea - landing everything and processing everything in a UK port. We will also set the zones for species so that EU boats can no longer destroy our environment that we own, by throwing away thousands of tonnes of dead fish in favour of more lucrative species. The disastrous EU CFP quota and discards system will be a thing of the past, thankfully.

It's going to be enormously expensive for the EU, and breaking our rules will impose massive fines, with repeat offenders having their boats seized and towed back to a UK port for auction.

I can't wait.

tick tock, tick tock....

Yes it seems the fishing issue which has been simmering for three
years now, is finally bursting into flames Bread!
Not before time imo?
At last our fishers are speaking out loudly and with one voice!
We must just make sure we keep Boris's nose to the grindstone
and not waste his majority?
So far he has performed above my expectations!!
