Lovely. It is interesting that it has acquired that name, and I presume that bluebells must have flourished there for a very long time, quite possibly centuries.

Its what we all know it as JBR maybe the name evolved over the years. There is also a Bluebell Woods at Bolton Abbey just up the road on the Devonshire estate.

West Tanfield in the snow. This could make a nice Christmas card, except that it rarely snows at Christmas these days.

The recent "Beast from the East" storm removed very large quantities of sand from the beach at Redcar exposing the petrified remains of neolithic trees from some 6000 years ago. There were on what is called Doggerland: low lying land which at the time joined the East coast of England to continental Europe. These are rarely exposed, but no-one can tell how soon the tides will recover them with sand again.

I was here during the summer what a lovely place. It has an outdoor museum which is very interesting.

We stayed at the Fairfax Arms just outside Helmsley a little place called East Gilling... lovely
