Angry white guys with guns.

One police officer killed.

Of interest, Boulder, the home of Colorado University, is known as one of the top five most liberal communities in the country. They were clamoring to defund the police just a few months ago and were still pressing for that at the time of the shooting.

Re: Another mass shooting in America.

Not only are they angry white guys, they're also very young. Both recent mass shootings were at the hands of 21 year olds. Where is that kind of anger coming from ?

I'm sure that if other countries had gun laws like the US there'd be this kind of incident.

The US is not the only country with nutcases.

It has been said that the anger brewing from this is associated with the same mentality of the extreme right wing that supported Trump and stormed the Capitol.

Working class jobs are disappearing, women are giving preference in school admissions, fellowships, and hiring, and young men are getting lost in the deep black hole of the dark side of the internet. People who used to get out and do things are sitting in the dark endlessly lost in the online video game world, pornography websites, conspiracy theory websites, radical news organizations, etc.

I would argue that technology has made us too socially distant (I'm not talking about Covid) from one another anymore. Gone are the days of checking on each other, community organizations, groups sports, being involved neighbors, sitting on the front porch chatting, you name it. Then, of course, is the obvious problem of unstable people having too much access to guns.

I really think that many young and middle-aged men are struggling to find value, purpose, and appreciation.

I agree 100% with everything you have said here.

It's the inevitable consequence of trying to suppress "racism".

Sobering thoughts, Surfermom, but I believe you are right.

The USA is approaching the state they the USSR had entered that led up to 1995 when the CCCP just broke apart. The differences between states had become too great which in the case of the USA corresponds to the Republican / Democrat schism and schism it now certainly is. IMO the probability of a break up of the Union is now inevitable and will be to the benefit of the people that want to live decent productive lives and leave the Dems to sink into the mire that they obviously feel comfortable in.

Just build very strong defences to protect the Republicans from the parasitic Dems - they'll be needed.
