Fisheries still vulnerable!!

Macron and EU still covet our fisheries?
Why?
Why do we seem to place no value on them?
Why do we place a trade deal, that actually costs us £85 Billion
every year and growing? Above regaining our fisheries which have
the potential to create huge benefits for UK?
WHY?

Hi

The EU does not cost us £85 Billion, that is the deficit of Imports against Exports from them.

We are no longer a manufacturing Country, our economy has changed, even after leaving we will still be importing from them and others.

When we leave we will have a basic WTO Free Trade Deal with them, which is what the rest of the world has.

This will not include Services, so leaving will cost us money due to loss of Tax from firms having to carry out transactions in the EU rather than here.

This is no great shakes, other countries flourish with basic Free Trade Deals.

We will however be free to make our own free trade deals with the rest of the World, so things will balance out after a few years.

As regards Fisheries.

We did not protect them, not considered worth bothering about.

The UK was the only EU Country not to register it's inshore fishing fleet and the only one to sell off it's quotas to foreign vessels.

I know I keep on about it, but we are our own worst enemies.

Our Politicians are useless, simply not bothered about us and incompetent.

Thats what l said Swimmy, our trade with eu costs us 85billion!
Whilst we may still need to import those goods from elsewhere
those goods will cost us substantially less than european goods
which are expensive compared to eastern goods!which is why
the EU applies tariffs to those goods so that they cant undercut
german and french producers!
If we ever get out of the grasp of eu we could see price reductions
of more than 15% on some items due to the removal of these
tariffs!
I quite agree with you we are and have been suffering from
stupendous stupidity by our political classes!

I still retain hopes that we may leave completely - with Farage's help.

I deplore that things which should be ours are being handed to the EU by our incompetent and treacherous politicians. The money as well.

The EU are getting everything they wanted. That's the real sickener.

Hi

Some things will undoubtedly be cheaper, but not that many.

The EU is our nearest supplier, and transport costs affect prices.

We have vast numbers of EU Cars here, which will need spares for years.

Our HGV's, with the exception of Dennis, which are a specialist Manufacturer, are all EU Imports.

We have no Manufacturers here in the UK.

Any none EU Manufacturer will have to retool to meet our standards for these vehicles.

We have sold off our Manufacturing Capacity, we are reliant on others.

We used to be World Leaders in Nuclear Energy.

Our new Power Station is being built by the Chinese and French.

There is no quick fix for this, it will take many years.

It is still vital that we leave.

The latest from the EU is that there is a Common Taxation and Fiscal Policy, which in reality means we fit in with France and Germany.

No Thanks, they can swan off.

Swimmy you are preaching to the converted on our manufacturing
capacity which l find deploring!
This cannot be remedied easily, and as we now seem unable to
carry out anything difficult anymore it probably will never be
regained?
However the fishing industry is, ( forgive the pun ) a different kettle
of fish, as the resource IS ours and has the potential to be fairly
Quickly revitalised, and we should not lose the chance to do so
due to timidity or vested interests! we must take it back despite
all the screams of outrage from over the channel
However l see no signs from our side we are prepared to do this!

Exactly why we need to vote for Nigel Farage's party.

He would make an excellent leader, he speaks very convincingly and persuasively and is the only leader who would be brave enough to take us out of the EU completely.

I have every confidence in our regaining our abilities as we certainly still have the skills. Have you all forgotten about our world leader in aero engines, Rolls Royce? They produce the best and are in great demand world-wide.

Yes we can survive without the EU. In fact, I'm sure that it won't be long after having left that they'll come running to us.

My only worry is our voters! So many won't have the courage, sadly.

Hi

It appears now that many of us will not have the choice of voting for the Brexit Party.

I find this very sad.

My local MP is a Tory, but he has to go.
