TV Ads

I don't know about you, but I'm getting more than a little fed up with all the depressing ads on telly now.
Night after night, every 15 mins or so, all I see is cancer ads, strokes, constipation, flu, lung cancer, etc.
I know we need to be aware of these things, but I find it more than a little depressing when it is repeatedly rammed down my throat over and over.

Does anyone recall any ads they used to enjoy and laugh at from yester- year?

The Cadburys smash aliens always made me laugh, as did the Joan Collins / Leonard Rossitter Cinzano commercials.

I never see any ads on TV because I only watch the ABC. Works for me.

Had a chuckle at this, Aquablue! You could have a point there.
Too many public service announcements and charity ads. I also don't think there's the inventiveness, is that a word, anymore where you can have a laugh and still get the message.

Re: TV Ads

I rarely see any advertisements because I record programs but I find the whole idea of them annoying.
I don't want people coming into my home selling me things. If I need somthing I will source it myself.
