Advertising that misleads!

An advert in todays Daily Mirror,
Mens trousers... First price you see (in large type) "£9 ".. Then in a box close by, "Save £6 when you buy 2 pairs"...So, Is that £12 for two pairs? (Instead of £18)... NO! On closer inspection, the trousers are £12 per pair, reduced to £9 per pair, when you purchase two pairs...
(Of course you then have to add P&P)....

Other adverts that state ...'Up to half price!'....
Shouldn't that be, 'Down to half price?'...

...Two times as fast / as long....
What's wrong with the word, 'Twice'.?

I enjoy having the occasional grumble...But I'm right aren't I?

Misleading ads always annoy me too Malc, the pettiness of it when there is no need for downright dishonesty, the £4.99 and £9.99 price tags have been going on since as far back as I can remember, lots of things used to be nineteen an eleven pence halfpenny in the old money, funny thing is folks still fall for it.
