Re: Mouse trap

Here is the trap. OH has now angled it (lifted it at the front) and boxed it in. The bait is at the back. So the creature has got the climb onto the trigger to get to the bait.

Re: Mouse trap

He may be that smart, that he fires the trap off without hurting himself, eats the food, then sets the trap again, hoping to catch your hubby.

Lummy liza, it looks like it's got a run up too!
I've never seen a contraption like that ... it deserves to live ... maybe it does reset it Jim.
Jimmy, I'm not sure where I stand, thinking about all the babies with high IQs, we could have an invasion of super mice on our hands..where will it end?

Re: Mouse trap

My Dad used to breed fish and rats would often come into the garden to get at the fish in the pond. He made a trap himself - kind of like a wire mesh box and the door of the box was held open on a trigger similar to the trap so that it would catch the rats. He intended to drown them as he was so angry that his prize fish were getting ripped open but, being him, he didn't - he'd take the trap over to the common and let them go The rats were probably thinking 'hey, this is great - go to that all you can eat pond and you get a free ride to the countryside with a leisurely walk back to cafe'

Re: Mouse trap

Try putting some chocolate (mice don't really like cheese) at the bottom of a glass milk bottle, then wedging the bottle at a 45 degree angle in the shed, the mouse goes in for the food, but cannot get out.
