Here we go then.....

Just reading that Theresa May sent a copy of her plan to her cabinet ahead of the Chequers meeing and it was leaked within minutes!

Here are the main points of the 100 page dossier -

1. A commitment to a “single standards model” which
would prevent Britain from adopting any national
standards, which critics fear will jeopardise any
future trade deals with the United States.

2. A legal agreement to “ongoing harmonisation with
the EU, including agrifoods”.

3. A “Common Rulebook” with the EU for all goods.

4. A pledge that British Courts will follow European
Court of Justice rulings “where
Relevant”.

Make of that what you will.

It looks like May is going to fudge it, she won’t please either side of the coin, the only winners will be the EU who no doubt will now feel justified in giving the U.K. less but charge us more.

Hi

Why are we so concentrated on getting a Trade Deal with the USA?

Trump is pulling out of trade deals and is very protectionist.

He is adamant that any new Trade Deals must put America first.

He is now imposing Tariffs above and beyond WTO Standard Tariffs.

To my mind we would be better off ensuring Trade Deals with Canada, Japan, South Korea and the others we are leaving when we leave the EU.

We can leave any deal with the USA until such time as there is a more reasonable administration in charge.

Such as Obama? with his glove puppet comment courtesy of David Cameron, "Vote leave and go to the back of the queue with trade deals" comment? Very reasonable administration sticking his oar in where it was not received at all well. Oh to have Trump instead of Mrs Maybe on our side in these sham negotiations.

I was actually referring to his skill at sticking up for his own country's citizens instead of crying like a baby because we dared to let go of nanny EU's hand.
At least he tells it exactly how it is and honours his manifesto promises to the American people who voted him in.
Good on him! I wish he was here in office fighting our corner.
