You can find it via the link bread has provided on smart border 2.0. The passing of their border is quick and efficient, but still requires control of goods (both are in schengen, so no persons, which is different in ireland). The controls require physical structures and checks of paper. The good friday agreement prohibits a physical border, so no solution for the rift between the two irelands.

Hi

What a mess.

The practical solution is a Hard Border in the Irish Sea, but politically unacceptable.

Requires flexibily, giving in if you like, from both parties. The EU has to concede the hard border with a third party country is moved to exclude NI. The UK has to perform their customs checks on goods and persons from the republic in british ports.

The practical solution is Option A of the Malthouse Compromise. The problem for the EU is that it means surrendering to GATT and WTO.

Two reliable sources, moscow and jbr, informed of this status. You challenged that, so therefore I ask you to recommend a trustworthy paper that can provide information on the malthouse compromise. Are you capable to do so or not?

I don't trust any MSM especially when it comes to Brexit.

Haven't you noticed ?

Is essence there are/were two trajects:

Withdrawal Agreement (May's deal)
1. Leave the EU with deal
2. Transition period till 31 december 2020 to work out trading deal
3. Extension of the transition till 31 dec. 2021. Condition: the EU parliament agrees with extending.
During transition pay membership to participate in eu-trade deals
4. If on dec 31, 2021, still no deal, the backstop kicks in.

Malthouse compromise plan A
1. Leave with deal
2. Transition period till 31 december 2021
During transition pay membership, but do not participate in eu-deals, but strike your own wto deals
3. If on dec 31 2021 still no deal, the backstop kicks in

The large difference is the assessment that by december 2020 no trade deal is concluded between EU and UK, so a long transition. And no dependency on a decision of the eu-parliament during extension.
The large obstacle will be that paying membership is to be included in the single market/customs union. The compromise lets the UK pay and get nothing in return. That will not hold up in courts.

All in all it is more of a cosmetic solution, meant to save face for the UK parliament.

The backstop is not Theresa Mays backstop, it is a basic FTA.

The EU needs that 39 billion - it's desperate. We don't get nothing for it - we get everything.
